Ivy Hill Soccer Fest 2026 to Bring FIFA World Cup Excitement, Youth Soccer, Economic Opportunity, and Community Impact to More Than 35,000 Newark Residents
The Ivy Hill Neighborhood Association will launch Ivy Hill Soccer Fest 2026, a large-scale community initiative designed to combine youth sports, FIFA World Cup excitement, workforce development, cultural programming, and economic activation throughout Newark’s West Ward.
Supported through the NJ World Cup Community Initiative, the festival is part of a statewide effort announced by Governor Mikie Sherrill alongside the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA), the FIFA World Cup 2026™ New York New Jersey Host Committee, and Choose New Jersey. Through the initiative, $5 million in grant funding was awarded to 34 organizations across New Jersey to host public fan experiences and community events ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026™.
Representing approximately 35,000 residents across Newark’s West Ward and surrounding communities, the Ivy Hill Neighborhood Association is positioning Ivy Hill Soccer Fest 2026 as a signature regional activation connecting sports, business, tourism, youth engagement, and community development.
Festival programming will include youth soccer tournaments, FIFA World Cup watch parties, live entertainment, food and merchant vendors, wellness initiatives, family activities, and the Sports Power Infrastructure Combine, a youth-focused experience connecting athletics, leadership development, and career exposure opportunities.
Organizers expect the festival to generate strong community participation while creating direct visibility opportunities for corporate sponsors, local businesses, healthcare organizations, educational institutions, workforce development agencies, and regional media partners seeking meaningful engagement with Newark families and multicultural audiences.
“This is bigger than soccer,” said Dwayne R. Wilkins, Ivy Hill Neighborhood Association President . “This is about investing in communities, creating opportunities for young people, supporting local businesses, and showing the positive energy and economic potential that exists in Newark’s West Ward.”
A major feature of the festival will be the Sports Power Infrastructure Combine on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Ivy Hill Park Soccer Field. The event will serve students in Grades 5–12 through athletic activities, leadership exercises, mentorship opportunities, and career exposure programming connected to growing industries including infrastructure, construction, logistics, transportation, energy, and technology.

The Ivy Hill Neighborhood Association is actively seeking corporate sponsors, public sector partners, food vendors, merchant vendors, nonprofit organizations, and community stakeholders interested in participating in one of Newark’s largest community-centered FIFA World Cup activations of 2026.
